ATR003 – Dead Scene Radio (EP)

  • F**k the Times
  • I Don’t Owe You A Damn Thing
  • Don’t You Know (mp3 download)
  • Demand
  • White Flag
  • The debut release from Kalamzoo’s Dead Scene Radio.

A band with two great songwriters is rare. Dead Scene Radio is one of them. Matt Blasco (one of the songwriters in the band) writes and sings songs that not only provide a great, edgy counterpoint to Jake Simmon’s (the other songwriter) poppier, more melodic tunes, but they’re also REALLY. DAMN. GOOD.

That’s something I can say about this whole band. They’re really damn good. Two brilliant songwriters. An incredibly tight rhythm section (courtesy of Mr Aaron Layendecker and Mr Jeff Blanzy). A hell of a show. Go see them if you get the chance. You won’t regret it.

ATR002 – Wake Up, Be Jealous:

  • Blood on the Sun (mp3 download)
  • My Papa Says
  • 30 Day Princess
  • Men Need Love
  • Golden God
  • Something I Like
  • 2 Times a Week at 2 AM
  • Mac’s Bar
  • The Family Stone
  • I’d Rather Dream than Fall Asleep
  • Inside (Outside)
  • Dancey Number 19
  • The Dart’s first (and sadly last) full-length album with Attraction Records, they’re dedicating it to their old friend and former guitarist, Wilmer Barber III (RIP). Lyrically, it finds singer Chris Minarik exploring his sordid history in relationships, love, and alcohol, and perhaps even redemption.

Musically, the Darts show more muscle, while holding onto their roots in frenetic indie rock. Catchy melodies, squealing guitars, and howling vocals abound. Some of their best work yet, and some of their most mature songwriting yet.

We’re selling the record for $5, shipped anywhere in the contiguous 48. You can email us at buy@attractionrecords.com for more details or for shipping to elsewhere. Else, you can buy via PayPal here:

Sub Sprawl Music Holiday Compilation 2008

  • I’m Not As Drunk As Santa
  • The Darts submitted this absurd Christmas song to Suburban Sprawl Music’s Holiday Compilation in 2008, and what do you know, they included it!

For the uninitiated, Suburban Sprawl Records in Ann Arbor puts out a record every year where their bands, their friends, and basically anyone else from around the state can record and submit a song for consideration. This recording was banged out in an evening, mixed and then mastered late that night. It was a fun, silly project.

You can nab the mp3 from us, or go get the whole comp FREE OF CHARGE (woah!) from SuburbanSprawlMusic.com/xmas/.
